What can I feed my baby American Toad?Please help!?
If it’s a very little baby, the absolute best thing to feed it is baby crickets (“pinhead” or hatchling crickets) or wingless fruitflies from the pet store. You can also try putting it in a container with a banana piece to grow normal fruit flies, but they’ll get all over your house! The smallest types of ants also work, if you can find a nest of little tiny black ants you can put some honey or sugary syrup of any sort in a jar and they’ll be all over it after a while, so they’re easy to catch. (Ants can bite if the toad steps on them or doesn’t eat them quickly enough, so don’t put more than one or two in at a time!) Toads eat almost anything small enough to swallow, so if you have alot of free time you can also just dig around in the soil or look on plants and find whatever bugs you can (aphids, little worms, etc).
