What can I expect in a beginner kickboxing class?
Not really lots of stretching, actually we don’t even stretch most of the time during class, because it’s a waste of time … we’re expected to come 15 mins early if we want to stretch. The beginner classes are usually all about technique … they will teach you stances, basic footwork, how to punch, and how to kick. To be honest if you’re heavy and unfit it will be tough, but if you stick with it for a couple years you’ll lose a ton of weight. The first few weeks will be tough for you and you might feel out of place because your punches and kicks will be awkward=, but just stick with it!!
