What can i expect at an electrical apprentice interview?

Apprenticeships are hard to get these days so congratulations. Just be yourself and dont rush your answers to questions. Slow down dont panic and answer in a measured way that tells the interviewers that you are a serious young chap who knows and appreciates the opportunity being offered and will make good use of the training offered. Butter them up a bit by saying something like you have heard they run an excellent training program (Sounds a bit creepy I know – But everyone loves a bit of flattery and it wont do you any harm) The questions will probably be very general Eg Tell us a little about yourself – How do you get on with people? – After your training are there any areas of electrical engineering that particularly attract you?etc. Have something ready for the ‘Interests/Hobbies’ type question – suggest you dont list playing Mafia Wars and Facebook as taking up all your spare time even if it does. The more ’rounded’ a personality you are goes in your favour also. Good Luck – Just
