what can I do with left over 2″ wood mini blinds after shortening the window coverings?”
If they’re real wood, use them for kindling in an indoor or outdoor fireplace. Don’t use too many at a time, though, because they probably have a varnish or other coating. Use them as plant stakes or labels in a garden. You should be able to write on them with a Sharpie. I’ve seen a craft idea in magazines a number of times to cut branches or other materials in equal lengths, stand them up vertically and wrap them around a straight-sided vase, and secure with twine or something else decorative, to customize a vase. I can see that working with leftover slats. It might look really great on a waste basket, since the slats are somewhat larger in scale. Ask a preschool or day care center if they want them. They’re always doing crafty things. As a last resort, if your town as a “swap shop” at your landfill or recycling center, put them there. I can all but guarantee someone will take them!
