What can I do with an open textbook published under a Creative Commons or GNU license?
Open textbooks published under these licenses are often free to be reused and remixed. That means you can often change the content of the textbook, either line-by-line or by deleting or adding whole sections. You still have to give credit to the original author, but you otherwise have a great deal of freedom to alter the text to suit your needs. Not all licenses grant the same rights, however, so it is best to read over the license to see what it allows you to do with the textbook.
