What can i do with an interior design degree?

I am actually asking myself the same question. I took time off from school and started working for textile and furniture showrooms and I would like to go into Interior Design as well. There are a variety of options available to you. Many interior designers can go on to work for themselves or for a firm. However you can also work in sales, design consultant, design studio (ie stylists, colorists, textiles, patterns, etc). You have to get a 4 year degree and pass an exam to be a licensed interior designer. But there are also 2 year degrees and certificates that will at least qualify you as a junior designer or a decorator. There are schools dedicated to interior design or have interior design majors like New York School of Interior Design, School of Visual Arts and Fashion Institute of Technology. Hope that helps you out a little!
