What Can I do with a major in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering?
Agricultural engineers apply knowledge of engineering technology and biological science to agriculture. They design agricultural machinery and equipment and agricultural structures. Some specialize in areas such as power systems and machinery design; structures and environmental engineering; and food and bioprocess engineering. Biosystems and agricultural engineers design efficient, economical systems to produce and deliver high quality, safe food to consumers. They also design sustainable systems that protect the environment, humans, plants, and animals. They develop ways to conserve soil and water and to improve the processing of agricultural products. They also design safe and efficient machines, processes, and practices for biological systems. Agricultural engineers work in research and development, production, sales, or management.
