What can I do to summerize or winterize my living space?
If you use area rugs, store them in the spring and summer. Let your floors meet your bare feet. Fresh seasonal flowers bring your rooms alive. A straw hat on a hook or a bowl filled with seashells can give your space a summerhouse feeling. Rearrange your furnishings to take advantage of a garden view, and open the windows to allow fresh air to revitalize your home. Cotton or linen slipcovers are a refreshing change for the warm months as well. In the fall and winter, bring in a few extra throw pillows and a couple of blankets to wrap in. Add a basket full of books to curl up and read on chilly nights. Move your furnishings around to a cozier closer arrangement. Your favorite chair in front of the fireplace with a small table close by for a warm drink or perhaps even dinner. Have a stack of firewood close by or if you don’t have a fireplace, large pillar candles can give a warm glow to a winter room.
