If Windows installer freezes during the installation of Windows XP updates, do the following: 1. Follow this link to the Microsoft Download Center: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=36dd19df-bc5e-44b7-a339-6794d97994a2&DisplayLang=en 2. Click on the ‘Download’ button on the right side of the screen. 3. Save the file to your desktop. 4. Run the file. The update will check your system, and determine if Service Pack is installed. If your systems does not have Service Pack 2 this update will notify you that you need to install Service Pack 2 first.
