If you are sued or receive a subpoena (a “subpoena” is a court order to produce documents or information in connection with litigation), you should consult with your own attorney. The University cannot defend you against copyright infringement claims or represent you if you are served with a subpoena. However, if you are a current University of Arizona student, you can get legal advice from the attorney at ASUA Legal Services ( http://legal.asua.arizona.edu/ ). Unfortunately, we know of no free or low-cost legal services that handle copyright infringement defense work, and the cost of defending against these type claims is likely to be significant.
