What can I do if I disagree with the decision FAS makes about my ill- health, severe ill-health or terminal ill-health claim?
If you disagree with certain decisions about your application for ill-health or severe ill-health payments, you can ask for a review of certain matters. Please refer to our leaflet for further details. If you disagree with the outcome of the review, you can appeal against it. Our letter will tell you how. All interim (or initial) payments are made at our discretion, so you do not have the right of review and appeal against them. You can read more about the reviews and appeals process in our leaflet.
