A shop vacuum cleaner is your best defense. These bugs mass on houses in the spring and fall on their way to and from boxelder and maple trees. They are not harmful, but certainly can be a nuisance. Vacuum up the masses on your siding, empty the cleaner and place the contents in the trash. This is especially effective in the fall. Every bug you sweep up now will not be back in the spring to reproduce.
