Dwarf hamsters shouldn’t have fruit at all, they are very prone to diabetes, cataracts and other disease caused or helped along by too much sugar in their diet. Syrian hamsters can have both fruit and vegetables, but since fruit isn’t a very big part of their natural diet, it shouldn’t be fed that often.
