What can global civil society organisations like CIVICUS do to support female civil society actors?
CIVICUS already works with both male and female civil society actors and so supporting female activists in ways that make sense to them would not be an extraordinary thing to do. However, CIVICUS should first start by internalising gender issues and providing its staff and members with the tools to create more knowledge, understanding and skills. From increased knowledge and understanding, actions will emerge that will express solidarity and amplify the voices of the marginalised sections of society.
