What can fans expect from Let Freedom Reign?
Chrisette Michele: You can expect emancipation. It’s all about emancipation and the strength to love again and getting comfortable with that fact that love does exist and the freedom to love again so, that’s what let freedom reign is all about. What are some of the things that happened to you over the past few years that inspired this project? You know, what’s crazy is most of the things you guys hear from me are inspired by the fans. When I wrote “Blame it on Me” and saw the response from the fans to that song⎯there’s this crazy thing about domestic violence, and stories about being cheated on⎯I decided that it’s time to not be angry with the circumstances that life gave us and to be healed and to learn how to love again. And so they gave me the liberty to write about the stuff that is freedom. One of the things you did different is that you’ll be rapping on the title track, so what made you decide to go there?
