What can effect the quality of the VoIP phone call?
There are many things that can effect the quality of the phone call made using any VoIP service. The quality of your headset (microphone and speakers), the softphone and the speed of your computer not to mention the quality of your broadband connection can all effect the phone call. Some of the cheaper broadband connections slow down to a complete crawl at peak times and this may well affect the call but normally the headset and softphone being used will have the biggest effect. Always use a well known make of softphone such as X-Lite or where ever possible use an IP phone or an ATA. If your computer is quite old then it may struggle to run the software quick enough which will also effect the quality. To get the best quality calls we would recommend having a dedicated ADSL broadband line, running no more than 5 phones on each line, and use an IP phone.
