Constructed wetlands have been used for treating sewage wastewater, roadway and parking lot runoff, acid mine drainage, agricultural wastewater, industrial wastewater from pulp plants and oil refineries and for mitigation and creation of wildlife habitat. Constructed wetlands have also been successfully used to remove pollutants from landfill leachates.
