What Can Catia V5 Do That Sw 2001+ Can ?
Q: what features does catia v5 have that SW 2001+ does not. I’ve played with CATIA v5’s 30 day demo, and noticed that it isn’t as streamlined as SW 2001+. For example (it’s just a small gripe) adding constraints in CATIA requires that you hold down ctrl key while you select the sketch lines that you want to add constraints to, then click on an add constraints icon. In solidworks you just right click on the 1st line select add relation then select the 2nd sketch line then select the constraint of choice. Not really different, but… Another difference in operation that I noticed was the way that hardware components are linked to their related holes, (if the amount of holes change so does the amount of hardware) in SW 2001+ you use insert => component pattern and select the pattern that you want the hardware to fallow. I CATIA v5 there isn’t any operation that mimics the way SW does it, instead you have to go to the patterns properties and edit it’s formula, in my opinion, the fallowing
