What can candidates do to help themselves prepare for the exam?
A. Candidates should read widely and for interest from the same sources as the texts in the test. They should be able to distinguish different types of writing and in each case determine the writer’s purpose and the main ideas in the text. This will help them to predict the type of questions they will find in the Reading paper. This early and general preparation is very important and will ensure a much higher level of confidence when faced with the test itself.
