What can be used to take fine line marks off my prescription glasses?”
I am a student in a school of Opticianry, so I know a fair bit about lenses. Unfortunately, there is no way to remove scratches from prescription lenses without the risk of changing the prescription or causing distortions. Non-prescription lenses may be fixed with store-bought solutions, but every time you add or take something away from the surface of a prescription lens, you are changing what’s called the base curve. The curvature of a prescription lens is very precise and it is tailored to your eyes only. If you alter it even by a few microns in a particular area you run the risk of ruining the lens. Even though you might not notice the difference, your eyes will- they can become strained. My advice to you is to either learn to live with the fine scratches or replace your lenses. Usually, very fine scratches on a lens do not affect the prescription and are not noticeable when you are wearing your glasses. The best way to prevent scratches in the future is to always clean your lenses
