What can be the problems with Titanium pigments?
Ans. Titanium pigments, in common with many other fine powders, tend to absorb moisture from the atmosphere. Moisture is usually detrimental to dispersion as it promotes particle agglomeration preventing ‘wetting’ in the carrier medium. Rutile Titanium Dioxide absorbs harmful radiations and therefore can protect the polymer. However, it can act as a photocatalyst, increasing the rate of degradation.
