What can be done to stop ducks from coming into the swimming pool?
Many duck species return to the same nest site every year, so next year, as soon as the adults arrive, scare them away so they do not nest near the pool and find a more appropriate site. If there are ducklings in a pool, create a gangplank so that they can climb out of the pool. Otherwise they will not be able to get out of the water and might drown. Depending upon the species, the ducklings will either be attended by one or both of the parents. It is important not to scare away the parents, otherwise they may not return effectively abandoning their offspring. Ducklings are difficult to hand rear.
