We are often asked what to do about low oil pressure. Assuming the Oil pressure switch is known to be OK then chances are the big-end and main bearing clearances are badly worn and beyond working tolerance. The only way to restore oil pressure is to have the crankshaft ground with new appropriately sized bearings. A temporary fix is to install a heavier spring in the oil pump.
