What can be done to prevent fleas and ticks?
Two commercial products that are recommended are Frontline and Advantage. However, when using these for the first time, keep a close eye on your dog for several hours because some dogs might have a reaction to the products. A non-commercial recommendation, to keep fleas away, is to put a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in the dog’s dinner every night (this also helps prevent yeasty ears).
