What can be done to a volvo 122s b20 engine to give it more power?
You can get a competent automotive machinist to do some porting on the head, install bigger valves and match up a custom camshaft. You can get a different carburetor arrangement. There’s nothing wrong with the SUs on a stock B20 but sidedraft Webers or Mikunis would be a big asset. Be sure your new exhaust setup is right for the modified engine. These engines lend themselves to modifications very well as long as everything matches and you don’t merely throw a bunch of parts at them. There are a number of folks around the U.S. who make living modifying B18 and B20 engines. One that comes to mind is John Parker at www.v-performance.com. Go to his website. You won’t be disappointed.
