Cheating is a form of academic dishonesty that involves using dishonest methods to complete any form of evaluation. Plagiarism is another form of cheating: intellectual theft. It is using someone else’s work (words, images, ideas, phrases, signatures, or computations) and presenting it as one’s own, instead of properly documenting every source. For specific examples of activities viewed as cheating and plagiarism see Appendix E of the Academic Policy: http://www.senecac.on.ca/home/academic_policy/appe.html Although there are numerous citation systems for documenting and citing reference materials, Faculty of Business generally uses the MLA style.
