What can be considered as a Line of Business (LOB) computer?
Line of business can be thought of as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and similar equipment that has an OS and perhaps Excel. Once a system like this has Office Pro, email, etc., it starts to be viewed as a multi purpose desktop by Microsoft . Scientific use is similar in that the system has a single purpose like DAQ or crunching data, but again would not have Office, email, etc. There is room for your discretion here. It’s not black and white.
