What caliber of gun is best for hunting the Tejon?
That depends a lot on the species that you are hunting….the most important thing for you to do in preparation for a hunt on the ranch is to practice shooting your firearm under field conditions…..it’s fine to sight your rifle in at the range, but range conditions are not what you will experience in the field….practice from a prone position, from a kneeling position, from a tree rest position, and from an offhand position….so that you know your abilities from each position so that when the moment to shoot comes you will know whether you can make a 250 yard shot from a prone position….and if you can’t then don’t shoot, another opportunity will come along.
