This year we are introducing a £1000 Geomatics Bursary for the first year of study for any student with the grades AAA or above (or equivalent) at intake. Additionally Geomatics students are eligible for the Frank Pounder Industrial Bursaries. These are awarded annually to new entrants to the Surveying and Mapping Science (H244) and Geographic Information Science (F862) degree programmes in Geomatics at Newcastle. The bursaries, worth £500 (from September 2005), are designed to assist new students in setting themselves up with texts and other materials for their first year studies. To be eligible, students need to have accepted as their first choice an offer of a place on one of the above courses, to have met the grades specified in their offer for entry, and to have registered on the degree programme.
