What budgets are frozen as a result of the budget freeze?
IUSD has implemented a freeze on spending that is deemed not critical to the district’s daily operations or the health and safety of children. Hiring will be considered on a case-by-case basis. In addition, some mandated programs are unable to be frozen. And programs funded by federal and state grants that cannot be used for other purposes – in other words, programs that require districts to “use it or lose it” – continue to receive dollars.
