What broadband wireless access technology is Africa-Online using?
Africa-Online utilizes the Breeze NET technology that uses low power microwave to provide two-way, high-speed Internet access and data connections to businesses. A centrally located cell site has up to a 30km-radius coverage. We operate in the millimeter wave frequency range (2.4 GHz). Being a wireless service, users with a “line of sight” to the Africa-Online transmitter/cell site should be able to get direct access. Line of sight does not mean one needs to see the transmitter/cell site itself, but rather that the signals can travel directly between your location and the transmitter/cell site. In addition, Africa-Online can make adjustments to available bandwidth quickly, as demand surges. Clients benefit from the use of the Wireless Access because of its ability to access more data in less time while being among the more affordable of all current wireless technologies.
