What breeds of hounds can I use to scent-trail Sambar Deer?
From the start of the 2004 hound hunting season (24 April 2004), only pure Beagles and pure Bloodhounds are permitted for scent-trailing Sambar Deer. The use of Foxhounds and Harriers and cross-breeds for scent-trailing Sambar Deer in Victoria was phased-out under the Wildlife (Game) Regulations 2001.
