What breed of horse is best for eventing?

If you have trained young horses for years then you should know that you do not need a foal to bond with and have trust you! Any horse that has been trained correctly will have trust in the trainer. As for breeds for eventing, those who have answered are totally wrong. Warmbloods and the like breeds, Gelderlander, Hanovarians Oldenburgs and Irish Draugghts do not make good eventers because, once they have got past the novice stage they have difficulty on making the times required on the cross country. Majority of the top level horses are TBs or very near TBs. It is not the breed you should be looking at but the type of horse and what its breeding is. *********************** ADD ON ********************************* Any horse that can jump can do the lower levels of eventing but if you want to go beyond novice then the warmbloods cannot do the times.
