Always choose a dog with reference to where he is going to live, how much room he will need or get, and what you want it to do or not to do. Since you have lots of room you can get a bigger dog. If you want the dog just for passive protection and some company without spending too much time on its education or on stimulating its intelligence, you can take a dog that is happy lying about.
