Physics is a branch of science. It is difficult to define a “branch of science” precisely because there is so much overlap. Generally, physics studies matter, energy and their interactions but this involves a lot of mathematics. There are also grey areas between physics and chemistry because chemicals are matter and the bonds between atoms involve energy. Biology is probably the most remote “branch of science” from physics.
