A +2 STR ring and a +3 STR belt does not make you +5 stronger. Only the +3 ring takes effect. You take the highest stat bonus of the type and add it to everything else present. Most enhancements are Enhancement bonuses. A +3 enhancement and a +2 luck bonus will stack for a total +5. The only named bonus that stacks is Dodge: +2 and +2 does not make a +4, but a +1 and a +2 and a +3 do stack to +6. You can find up to +5 Dodge bonus items.
