What Bitrate are our MP3s Encoded at?

0

All MP3’s submitted through LABELS are encoded at a bit rate of 192 – 256kbps rate. Meanwhile our UNSIGNED music is submitted directly from the artist. We have no control over what quailty their music will be but we encourage all our Unsigned Artists to encode somewhere between 192 – 256bps. PLEASE NOTE: A small selection of music from Underground Grapevine is encoded at Variable Bit Rate. VBR will quite often show a low bitrate in iTunes if the song starts off with silence, or a simple tone intro. The bitrate then increases as the song becomes more complex. You do not see the bitrate variation because iTunes and others media players choose not show such variance on the fly. An older player such as the Winamp 2.xx series will show you this information. VBR is actually better for music fidelity then CBR. Not as good as ABR, but still very good.
