What Birth Injuries Can Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy / Oxygen Deficiency / Hypoxia Cause in a Newborn Child?
After your newborn child has failed to receive adequate oxygen, brain damage has most certainly occurred. This birth injury brain damage is most likely very serious as well as permanent. Some of these birth injuries may be so serious or critical that they may result in infant fatalities or infant death. In a recent study on the effects of Oxygen Deficiency / Hypoxia, it was determined that upwards of twenty-percent (20%) of all newborns who have suffered a Hypoxia Birth Injury will die within the first three (3) months. Of the remaining eighty-percent (80%) of infants who survived this newborn period, approximately twenty-five percent (25%) of the newborn infants will have permanent injuries or problems.
