A low dose birth control pill – I took it for the entire 7 months I nursed my daughter with no troubles. You can also have an IUD placed in your uterus, with low hormones. Ask your doctor – our hospital never let us leave with the baby without first finding out what birth control you plan on using; you will be very fertile after having a baby. Condoms, diaphragms and the withdrawal method are completely unreliable. Abstinence is 100% effective, however.
