Nuts and similar fruit depend upon squirels and other animal for distribution and planting. I guess you could write an entire book on the affects of man on the growth of seeds. But modern agricultural techniques include rapid pacement and cover of seed in a soil made ready for the seed. The application of fertilizer and pH maintance are incorporated into regular cultivation or appications of herbicides necessary for weed control.
