What biotic factors affect the growth of seeds?
Temperatue, moisture, light are common factors. But some seeds need to be subjected to cold temperature for around two month before the will gerrminate eg. Acorns and Cherry. Certain hard shell seeds need scarification before germination and are built for their trip through the digestive system of bird and mammals eg. Berries. Nuts and similar fruit depend upon squirels and other animal for distribution and planting. I guess you could write an entire book on the affects of man on the growth of seeds. But modern agricultural techniques include rapid pacement and cover of seed in a soil made ready for the seed. The application of fertilizer and pH maintance are incorporated into regular cultivation or appications of herbicides necessary for weed control.
