What bioinspired photonic systems that exist in biology inspired this program?
This BAA is focused on the area of bioinspired structures for dynamic photonics. As stated in the BAA, the structural color seen in some butterflies, beetles, feathers, etc, were the inspiration behind the effort. However, any bionspired structure(s) is accesptable if you can justify within your proposal that your chosen approach can achieve the stated milestones and the program goals for the technical area to which you are choosing to propose.
