What bicycle frame size would best suit me?
The idea is to match the bike size to your body size. One of the major differences between brands is how they fit you, very much like shoes. Like shoes a proper fitting at a bike shop makes a world of difference. As for a type of bike for general use around town, I would suggest a hybrid, city, or comfort bike. Again, a good bike shop will come in very handy for narrowing down your choices to what works best for you. What’s available to you will vary greatly as to where you live. Frames are measured at the seat tube, the one that holds the seat. It is typically measured in cm or inches. For a rough estimate as general sizing for your 6 foot frame: Mountain / hybrid / comfort bikes: 18″, 19.5″, or 21″. 21″ is a bit on the large side. Road bikes: 56cm, 58cm, 60cm. As above 60cm is on the large side. Try out a few bikes and see which one actually rides best for you. You will be surprised to find how all the bikes of the same size ride and fit differently.
