Try cheap white vinegar. Remove as much water from the loo as possible and pour in a couple of pints of hot vinegar. Leave overnight – better keep the windows ajar! It made an excellent job of my toilet. You are going to have to use your brush from time to time to get the vinegar under the rim. I also use vinegar for my kettle – its not going to poison anybody if I don’t rinse it properly!

I had the same. Try to remove as much water in the pan as you can and use Harpic toilet cleaner all around and leave overnight. It’s the only product I have found that works.
