PCOE’s health benefits cap is $XXX per month. What retirement system is in effect for the Office of Education? State Teachers’ Retirement System (STRS) is available to teachers and Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) is available to classified staff. STRS requires an 8% contribution rate from the employee, employer matches 8.25%. PERS requires a 7% contribution with employer buying out 5.5% in addition to matching 7%.
