What benefits do you foresee being procured from space exploration and colonization?
Colonization means a new place for humans to live, so if humans go extinct on Earth they can still survive on the new planet. New energy sources that would be developed to make space travel cheaper can also solve the worlds energy demands. Recycling methods needed for sustainable on other planets will also be needed on Earth when raw materials start to run out. Advancements made in Supercritical CO2 for the first colonies on Mars can also be used on Earth as an environmentally friendly alternative to solvents and possibly even solve Earth’s impending water shortage. Lessons learned on Mars to live off the land and live within ones means will be positive cultural improvement for humans. Space exploration and colonization is the future, so much free land out there just waiting to be occupied, it would be a waste not to.
