What benefit does a data exchange standard provide if I already have an existing exercise data management system or if I am developing such a system?
Agencies and organizations that are developing exercise data management systems, or maintaining existing systems, can use the standard to interface their system with the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) HSEEP Toolkit in order to easily exchange data. Even if there are discrepancies in data terminology between your system and the HSEEP Toolkit, using the HSEEP Data Exchange Standard will guarantee that the HSEEP Toolkit translates and incorporates your system’s data correctly. Technical assistance may be available to your organization to assist in this process, either through NED directly or through NIEM.
