SafetyMate is design to use 4-AA batteries. Included with your SafetyMate are 4-AA long-life Duracell batteries. If you would like to use rechargeable batteries with your SafeyMate, you must purchase the SM955 Recharging Kit, which includes 4-AA NiMH rechargeable batteries, a charging cradle, 120/240V AC Adapter, and a 12V DC vehicle recharging cable for charging at home, while traveling or in the car.
