What basic computer ingredients (in lay readers terms) that are necessary to build and maintain an Internet Station?

It’s easy and fun to broadcast and I highly recommend it. To maintain the station, it must be your life and love.” Putting all these ingredients together (again in ‘lay readers’ terms) – How does it all work? “What we use is a conventional broadcast automation system which feeds live encoders. The broadcast machine has three soundcards and a ‘sk is’ array. All of our music is in raw uncompressed form, and is encoded by the codec-of-the-day on the way to the listener. This allows us to send to any encoder without being married to one compression codec. The signal is processed by a good quality soundboard, along with a good mic, CD deck and Gentner phone patch.
