According to MLB.com the four year deal between the outfielder and the NY team will pay Bay $66 million and will be complete pending the physical of Bey. Bay was reportedly looking for a five year deal but the Mets would not budge past four years in the guaranteed contract. Bay was last employed by the Boston Red Sox where he put up some impressive numbers by batting .267 with 36 home runs and 119 RBI’ s for the 2009 season. He will once again return to the National League as the outfielder of the Mets. Bay has played for multiple teams including the Pirates and Red Sox.
