What awards or funds are available?
SLAIS receives an allocation of funds for scholarship support from the Faculty of Arts. The first priority is for recruitment of the best and most promising incoming students at the Ph.D. and master’s level. Furthermore, all doctoral students who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents also apply for scholarship funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. International students (those on a study visa) are eligible for Partial Tuition Scholarship which reduces the tuition to the same amount Canadians pay, about $4200 per year in 2009/2010. International students may also apply for a variety of Affiliated Fellowships that vary in value. Information about these scholarships is available on the Faculty of Graduate Studies web site. Whenever possible, SLAIS will provide details of financial funding at the time of notification to applicants of recommendation for admission.
